The EHDS isn’t in effect yet, so providing education about this law is a bit premature. But this law will apply alongside the GDPR when the data is personal data. And there’s a great deal of uncertainty about this Privacy Act; even just about the concept of personal data. What does it mean that it’s a relative term? And what about pseudonymous data? Does it fall under the GDPR or not? And if purpose limitation is such an important principle (that you can only use data for the purpose for which you originally collected it), should you always ask permission to train an AI tool? The GDPR is a rather complex law, but it is certainly possible to explain it in plain language. If you explain the purpose of a course and who the participants are, Dr. Vlieger will provide tailored materials. She taught for many years at institutions including the University of Amsterdam, where she obtained her basic teaching qualification and is CRKBO registered (VAT-exempt).
